getting fit

There's more to getting fit than what meets the eye. Although you should be prepared to accompany your workout with a proper diet if you want to see results, you can't expect to stick with the same workout routine for your entire life. Not only will this be boring and more difficult to stick with; it will also become less effective as your body gets used to the routine. You should shake up your fitness routine in order to work out all of your body.

The question is, how do you find a new exercise routine, and what is right for you? Below are some of the workout routines that everyone should try if they are able. They may make a big difference in your life, and help you reach your goals of getting fit.

1. HIIT

One workout method that has become increasingly popular in recent years is high intensity interval training, otherwise known as HIIT. HIIT workouts usually last for around thirty minutes a day, and involve alternating short periods of brief, intense workouts with frequent recovery periods. These are repeated until your body reaches the point of exhaustion. These have been found to be highly effective, and often create a great effect without making you feel as if you're overdoing it.

2. Steady State

Also known as aerobic exercises, steady state workouts involve any level of intensity. The goal is to maintain a steady state of activity through the duration of the workout. Some people prefer this to HIIT, as their body is able to adjust during the workout, and they are able to get the results that they need without feeling frantic.

3. Low Intensity

If you have health conditions that restrict your physical abilities, but still want to work out, you do have options. You can work through low intensity workouts, which are designed to keep your heart rate below 50% of your MHR, or maximum heart rate. If you feel as if you need to bracket up the intensity a bit, you can transition to moderate intensity workouts, which will take your heart rate to 50% to 70% of its MHR.

Remember that there is nothing wrong with pursuing low intensity workouts if that is what is right for you and your needs. Don't choose the workout routine that everyone else is utilizing. Choose the right one for you.
