Every year, a survey of fitness trends is sent out to 30,000 fitness professionals across the globe. They're asked to rank exercise trends to predict what will be popular in the coming year. However, the word 'trend' is misleading: almost all of the most popular fitness trends predicted for 2019 have been on previous years' lists. Let's take a look at the top three.

  • Streaming Workouts: Some people are either unable or unwilling to get themselves to a gym with regular frequency. Maybe you travel for work and live out of hotel rooms, or the idea of exercising in a public space gives you anxiety; whatever the reason, streaming workouts provide the perfect solution. You are able to watch and learn from a certified professional without needing to leave the comfort of your own bedroom. However, without an instructor actually watching your moves, it can be tricky to tell if your form is correct.
  • HIIT Workouts: High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is lauded by fitness gurus the world over. By pushing yourself harder for a shorter amount of time, you are able to get a strength training workout, cardio workout, and a full-body workout all at once. HIIT workouts generally only last around 30 minutes, but you will feel every single one of them.
  • Group Classes: Let's be honest, working out on your own is tough. You alone are responsible for getting yourself to the gym and pushing yourself to your limits. If you're finding that you simply aren't exercising on your own, you can join a group class; they're more affordable than private training classes and offer the energy of a group. In addition to the attitude of knowing that you're all in the same boat, making friends in such an environment is almost effortless.

Establishing a workout routine is no easy task. If you incorporate the above exercise trends, however, you will be able to achieve your fitness goals; find a gym or fitness center near your home, discover a streaming routine that you enjoy, or trust in a personal trainer to see you through the hardest HIIT workouts. Whether you want to build muscle or lose fat, your fitness goals are just around the corner.
