In the summer when the kids are home from school, you may wonder what kind of exercise is safe for them. They should play outdoors in the early morning or later in the day when the heat and sun are less strong. Exercise Through Water Activities

In the warmer weather, people still hike, and many trails are easy and an effective way to get exercise and enjoy nature. Some nature centers offer a variety of classes for children, from hiking to learning about birds. Biking is another activity that supplies exercise in warmer weather.

Gardening and Household Chores

Many local garden centers, botanical gardens, or garden clubs offer gardening classes for older children. Some let them help with local community gardens. If you have a garden, you can let them help with watering, planting, and weeding. Household chores must be done and they are a reliable source of exercise inside the house. Vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, and cleaning rooms are all good exercises on rainy days.
